WHERE WE WORK
St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group (SJEHG) is a network of hospitals and clinics in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza serving a large and diverse population across the region.
SJEHG is a UK-registered charity that delivers sight-saving care in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. Services are delivered through two registered charities, each operating under local legal frameworks.
In Jerusalem, services are provided by St John Eye Hospital – Jerusalem RA, an Israeli incorporated not for profit entity, operating in Sheikh Jarrah, the Old City, and Kufr Aqab.
In the West Bank and Gaza, services are delivered by St John Eye Hospital, a UK-registered charity, also registered as international NGO with the Palestinian Interior Ministry.
In 2025, SJEHG treated over 232,000 patients – a record milestone – and performed over 4,500 major surgeries.
1 in 2 patients are children.
We also run three mobile outreach programmes in the West Bank, and our Child Vision Screening Initiative brought vital care to nearly 60,000 children in 2025.
