Modern-Day impact
- 05 August 2025
Today, SJEHG is a network of hospitals and clinics, with the recent opening of a new hospital in Nablus in 2025. This facility marks the first time that surgical eye care is available to patients in the northern West Bank. SJEHG remains a crucial healthcare provider, treating over 145,000 patients annually, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or ability to pay.
The Group specialises in cataract surgery, corneal transplants, paediatric ophthalmology, and the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. It is also a teaching hospital, training local doctors and nurses to foster sustainable healthcare development.
Recognised for its humanitarian mission, SJEHG continues to provide world-class eye care despite ongoing political and economic challenges, offering life-changing services to one of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
