Late 20th and Early 21st Century: Major Expansion

Despite ongoing political instability, the hospital continued to expand its services. In 1985, it opened satellite clinics in Gaza and the West Bank to reach underserved communities. The 2000s marked further growth, with hospitals opening in Hebron in 2005 and Anabta in 2007. Additional clinics in Muristan and Kufr Aqab followed in 2016 and 2022, respectively, alongside the introduction of mobile outreach services to remote areas. The Gaza clinic was significantly upgraded in 2016, adding state-of-the-art surgical facilities.
In 1999, the Order underwent a major restructuring, establishing a new governing body called the Grand Council. Today, the Order comprises 11 national organisations, known as Priories, 33 national organisations called Associations, and the St John Eye Hospital Group, with its main hospital located in Jerusalem.
