Dr. Ahmad Maali, CEO, represented St John Eye Hospital Group at the funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II along with the Lord Prior, Prof. Mark Compton, and St. John Ambulance volunteer Nakkita Charag.
Dr. Maali’s story with St. John began in 1990 when he joined St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital as a student nurse; “to be part of the congregation for Her Majesty’s funeral service at Westminster Abbey in London last week is a great honor.” Dr. Ma’ali said. Ahmad Ma’ali was first admitted to the Order of St. John in 2000 and was promoted to Commander in 2016.
St. John Eye Hospital is privileged and humbled to have been serving people and playing a vital role in saving the sight of many patients, in the name of the British Crown.”
“The St. John Eye Hospital staff had the honor of making a mourning pause coupled with a short-said service of prayer in the Hospital’s Chapel to pay our respect to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. “Dr. Ma’ali added.
It is worth mentioning that St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group just two weeks ago celebrated the 140th anniversary of the establishment of St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital in 1882, based on a Royal Charter by Late Queen Victoria.
May Her Majesty rest in peace and rise in glory.
