The Australian Representative to the Palestinian Territories, Mr. Edward Russell, and Head of Development Cooperation at the Australian Representative Office in Ramallah Mr. Craig Gilbert, visited St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group in Jerusalem yesterday and had an insightful meeting with our CEO Dr. Ahmad Maali and our Director of Development & Grants Mr. David Dahdal.
This meeting was a great opportunity for St. John to provide updates on its charitable work and, in particular, updates on the progress of major projects supported by the Australian Government’s Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP), through our long-lasting Australian Partner organization, the Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF). FHF support to the Hospital Group has been greatly helping St. John’s vision and mission to end avoidable blindness in Palestine.
Mr. Russell expressed his admiration for the work of St. John Eye Hospital, especially in reaching out to the most marginalized and vulnerable communities and improving access to sustainable eye care services throughout the Palestinian Territories.
