The Saving Sight Banquet

  • 05 Feb 2025

  • The Mansion House

In the presence of The Grand Prior of the Order of St John, His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester KG, GCVO, GCStJ, The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Alastair King MStJ DL and Sir Andrew Cash OBE KStJ, Chair of the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group (SJEHG), warmly invite you to a four-course banquet and fundraising auction at London’s Mansion House.

For over 140 years, SJEHG has been providing expert eye care to patients in the Holy Land regardless of religion, ethnicity or ability to pay.

At our hospitals and clinics in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza we treat over 135,000 patients each year, over half of whom are children who, without our services, are at risk of permanent blindness.

One year after suspending our services in Gaza due to the most dreadful of conflicts, SJEHG is once again urgently treating patients there. Since resuming our sight-saving work in April, we have been providing safe and effective eye care to 1,000 patients each week.

Amid the daunting task of rebuilding homes, schools, and infrastructure, restoring sight remains a paramount humanitarian priority. As the oldest and most trusted charitable provider of expert eye care in the Holy Land, our work is more vital than ever.

Join us for an evening of drinks, canapés, and entertainment. During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to hear more about our life-changing work and plans to fully restore services in Gaza.

The event will take place at Mansion House, the Lord Mayor of London’s official London residence and one of the City’s most historic and atmospheric venues.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to saving sight and transforming lives in Gaza and the Holy Land. We look forward to welcoming you.
