SAMEER’S STORY

Sameer Bshari, a 77-year-old retired car mechanic from Ramallah, had struggled with poor vision for the past year and a half due to cataracts, a condition that developed alongside his diabetes.

With basic and secondary education, he completed a diploma in car mechanics at the Lutheran Union, while his wife, also educated to a similar level, remains unemployed. Together, they raised three sons and a daughter.

Recently, Sameer underwent cataract surgery, an experience he described with deep gratitude. He praised the hospital staff for their kindness and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the hospital’s support in covering part of the surgery cost, sharing that it felt like they had “saved his life and his sight.”
