KARMEL’S STORY
Two-year old Karmel Dandees, from Hebron, was diagnosed with neonatal obstruction of the bilateral nasolacrimal duct (tear duct), which was causing discomfort and irritation, with chronic tearing and rubbing of the eyes.
She underwent surgery for her blocked tear duct under general anesthesia at the SJEHG main hospital in Jerusalem. Karmel’s family faces financial struggles due to her father’s unemployment, so they were very grateful to have the expenses for the surgery covered by our partnership with the Fred Hollows Foundation, offering crucial support.
