In 2023, the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group was awarded the António Champalimaud Vision Award, receiving a €1 million prize in recognition of its long-standing charitable commitment to providing eye care in the Holy Land. The António Champalimaud Vision Award is the largest and most prestigious accolade in the field of vision, celebrating both leadership in scientific discovery and humanitarian impact.

Accreditation
St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem was the first hospital in the occupied Palestinian territories to receive the prestigious Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. JCI, a US-based organisation, sets the highest global standards for patient safety and service quality in healthcare facilities worldwide. In 2025, our Hebron Hospital received JCI accreditation for the first time. Through our commitment to quality eye care, we have also been accredited by the ISO 9001:2015 (Accreditation for Quality Control).
