The talk will examine the origins and history of Jubilees, from the Golden Jubilee of King George III to the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, with a particular focus on the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897, which involved the largest parade of horses and troops seen on the streets of London both before and since.
