140th Celebration of St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital

We are delighted to be celebrating with a Garden Party to mark the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the first Hospital in Jerusalem on Friday 24th June 2022 at the Charterhouse, London EC1M 6AN preceded by the Launch of the Book A Beacon of Hope: The SJEHG – 140 years of Eye Care in Palestine & Israel from 3.00pm until 6.00pm

Guests should arrive from 2.30pm and enter The Charterhouse via the Museum entrance through the Chapel Court Garden directly from Charterhouse Square.

You will be directed to the Registration Desk where you will be welcomed by members of the SJEHG London Office. Please note that due to constraints on numbers at the venue only guests who have been notified in advance can be admitted. If you are no longer able to attend please notify us as we may be able to include someone from our waiting list. For overseas visitors in particular, we are fortunate in having been able to agree with staff at The Charterhouse, which is itself a very historic venue, that if you arrive prior to 2.30 you will be able to view their small museum and Chapel before proceeding to Registration.

A series of short formal presentations will take place between 3pm and 3.45pm after which you will be directed downstairs through the Old Library and Norfolk Cloister to the Gardens where afternoon tea will be served. This we hope will be a happy informal occasion with an opportunity to mingle and meet other guests.
