Saeb Erekat visits the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem
On 10 November, the Jerusalem Hospital was delighted to play host to Saeb Erekat, the Palestinians' chief negotiator with Israel, when he was met by CEO, Rod Bull, Medical Director, Jeanne Garth and Director of Nursing, Ahmad Ma'ali. Mrs Salwa Qunnam, the Palestinian Authority’s Deputy Minister for Women’s Affairs also visited the Hospital.
Saeb Muhammad Salih Erekat was the Palestinians' chief negotiator from 1996 until his resignation from the Palestinian cabinet soon after Mahmoud Abbas took office as prime minister. He later reconciled with the party and was re-appointed to the post in September 2003. In 1995, Erekat was involved in crafting the Oslo accords.
Mr Erekat visited the Hospital in order to familiarise himself with the work we undertake, and is now a firm supporter.
