

St John Eye Hospital is the leading provider of eye care in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. The main hospital is located in Jerusalem. The Group in recent years has expanded its services with the provision of a second hospital in Hebron and clinics in Gaza and Anabta. In addition to our extensive range of specialist services we also provide services within the community through our Outreach Teams which travel throughout the West Bank.
Approximately one third of our operating budget is realized through fundraising. You will be involved in writing and delivering the annual fundraising strategy to targets. You will be expected to adhere to donor reporting requirements and comply with their rules and regulations. The job also involves researching and developing new funding sources, particularly within the Middle East, and contributing to marketing publications. You will also be responsible for managing a small team.
Educated to degree level with previous fundraising experience in NGO and community based organizations is essential. You will be proactive and enthusiastic, a good communicator in both English and Arabic and able to write clear and concise reports in English. Your knowledge of the socio economic and political developments in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem needs to be up to date. Excellent computer skills are also necessary.

Special interests are welcome but all other specialities are needed. The Hospital serves the population of Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza. It is well equipped to take all forms of modern surgery. Secure accommodation is provided within the Hospital, Applicants should preferably agree to serve for one year but shorter periods will be considered.
